In today’s market, scented candles come with pre-determined fragrances. As a customer, you’re limited to choosing from pre-made products and with little to no say in what scent truly fits you or your home.

At Stemning Copenhagen, we’re here to change that.

We offer a unique and creative experience where you take part in designing your own scented candle. With a carefully curated palette of 100 exclusive fragrance oils, you’ll be guided to blend your very own personal scent combination. Whether you’re drawn to something fresh and uplifting, warm and calming, or complex and luxurious, we’ll help you find the perfect balance.

The anatomy of a refined scented candle

"When you step into our workshop, you enter a world where we explore everything a scented candle can be for each individual customer. Our oils are specially developed for candles and are, of course, paraben-free, phthalate-free, IFRA-approved, and vegan. The wax in our candles is 100% plant-based soy wax, and our wicks are made from real cotton. parabenfrie, fltalatfrie, IFRA-godkendte og veganske. Voksen i vores lys er 100% plantebaseret soyavoks og vores væger er vævet af ægte bomuld.

Book your spot today at the time that suits you best. Here, you choose a date and time that works for you. Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with practical information and the address.
We greet you with open arms
When you arrive, one of our fragrance experts will welcome you. We’ll show you to your seat and make sure you feel comfortable. You’ll be handed an A4 sheet with our full scent menu, where you can easily mark the fragrances you like best.
FInd your favorites
We’ve set up a wall of 100 poured scented candles for you to smell one by one — we recommend trying about 20 scents. It’s like exploring memories and moods. You pick at least 10 fragrances that appeal to you – just trust your sense of smell!

After selecting your favorites, you sit back at your place. Our fragrance experts will then help you create the best combination of 3-4 scents from the 10 you’ve chosen.
Choose your container and wick
Now it’s time to choose the glass for your candle. We offer a variety of colors and sizes, so you can pick the one that perfectly matches your style. You can choose a cotton wick for a classic, steady flame, or a wooden wick that crackles gently, creating a cozy, fireplace-like atmosphere.
Create your unique scent formula
You’ll get a small measuring cup to fill yourself with the fragrance oils you’ve selected. You decide completely how to combine them and how much of each to use – just let your nose guide you.
Now we're creating
You’ll receive a preheated container with warm soy wax and the wick set at the bottom. Then, you slowly pour your fragrance oils into the wax and gently stir with a spoon until the scent is evenly distributed.
Label your candle
While your candle sets, it’s time to get creative: What will you name it? You have complete freedom to name your new candle, and we’ll print it on the label for you. Now you’ve created a truly unique scented candle with its very own name.
Pick up
Once your candle is blended, the soy wax needs about 2 hours to set. You’re welcome to pick it up anytime during our hours of operation.

We don'trecommend pregnant people to work in close contact with scented oils.
Even though our oils are selected with care and of high quality, many natural oils still carry chemicals in high concentration that can affect the body during pregnancy. 

For your safety and in line with our policy, we unfortunately don’t allow pregnant participants to take part directly in the candle-making process involving the oils.
However, you’re more than welcome to join as an observer — enjoy the atmosphere, and choose the scents you’d like our team to handle for you.

Our priority is to ensure you have a safe and comfortable experience, with full care and consideration for your well-being.

No, unfortunately it is not possible to bring your own container. Our containers are carefully‬ ‭ selected and tested to ensure optimal burn time,‬‭ are of high quality, and are fire safe.‬ ‭

For safety reasons and‬‭ in order to provide‬‭ the best experience, we cannot approve the use of‬ ‭ personal containers as we cannot guarantee their fire safety.‬ ‭

Each candle you create is unique and made by blending the fragrance oils yourself. We do‬ ‭ not keep track of how you combine them, so we cannot recreate the exact scent you made‬ ‭ last time. This is exactly what makes our concept special – you let your sense of smell guide‬ ‭ you during the experience.‬ ‭

If you remember the fragrances you blended last time or have specific preferences, our‬ ‭ fragrance experts are always ready to help you find the perfect scent combination.‬ ‭

The experience is designed as an individual activity, so it is not possible for multiple people‬ ‭ to create one candle together. We recommend that each participant makes their own candle‬ ‭ instead. This ensures that everyone gets the full experience.‬ ‭

‬No, the price is not the same for all candles, as it depends on the container and size you‬ ‭ choose. Our CLASSIC candles start from 299 DKK, and you can choose from three different‬ ‭ colors. If you choose a DELUXE candle, the price starts from 375 DKK, and you have the‬ ‭ option to select from two colors. Additionally, you can purchase wooden wicks for 5 DKK‬ ‭ each if you want a special look or the crackling effect that a wooden wick provides.‬ ‭

To remain a full scented experience, we don't offer food in the store.
You can however purchase different types of beverages during your visit, see our pricelist for the store to see the entire selection or contact us if you have questions about what we offer.

When your candle is ready for pickup, we put a cork lid on it to keep the scent sealed. You‬ ‭can also purchase a bag to carry your candle in.‬ ‭
